Simply Scrappin' - Product Review

Stampin' Up! carries numerous Simply Scrappin' Kits. They are a great way to preserve your photos in a scrapbook using our kits that come complete with self-adhesive die cuts, patterned paper, and card stock. Card stock is 12" x 12", but can easily be trimmed to create 6" x 6" and 8 1/2" x 11" pages for your scrapbook.

Besides making scrapbook pages, I know the kits would be prefect for card making too. The possibilities are unlimited on what you could do.

The kit pictured above is called: Christmas Jingle (item #115696 and retails for $19.95). Colors: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, and Very Vanilla.

The following pictures show ALL that you get in this kit.

This kit coordinates with the stamp set called "Tree Trimmings", item # 116722.

Aren't these self-adhesive die cuts great!! You will receive 2 sheets of this design (both sheets shown in the photo). Each sheet is 6" x 12". The circle with the reindeer is 2 3/4" in diameter.

Two more sheets of self-adhesive die cuts. The large red ornament is 3 1/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. So many great pieces to choose from. Both sheets are shown in the photo above.

Won't it be fun to choose the perfect border for your scrapbooking page or greeting card. I love all the choices and how well they all work well together. The brown border is 1 3/4" high and 12" long. There are two sheets of these die cut borders. Each sheet is 6" x 12", and there are two sheets in the kit. Both sheets are in the photo above.

This is the first set of double sided paper (12" x 12") in the kit. There are 3 sheets of this paper.

This is the 2nd set of double sided paper (12" x 12") in the kit. There are 3 sheets of this paper.

There are a total of 8 pages of textured card stock (12" x 12").
2 pieces of each color (Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Very Vanilla)

The final photo is of the whole kit. WOW, I'm amazed at all that is in it. Love the quality of the products in this kit. You won't be disappointed.

The Singing Reindeer card was to fun to make. Thank you Amy Celona for the idea/inspiration. I hope that many of you will try it. It is a great way to use your paper punches too as it uses 7 different punches and one of the Big Shot Sizzlit die.

.......1 piece 1 1/2" x 4" for the mouth and hooves
Creamy Caramel Card Stock, item #102514, 1 piece 4" x 5" for the body and head
Snail Adhesive, item #104332
Dimensionals, item #104430
2 Way Glue Pen, item #100425
Bone Folder, item # 102300
Paper Snips (Scissors), item # 103579
Uni-ball Signo Gel Pen, item #105021
Real Red Classic Stamp Pad, item #103133
Snow Swirled Stamp Set, item #111690

*Whisper White Card Stock --- 8 1/2" x 11" cut as follows:
.....1 piece 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" , scored at 4 1/4". This is your card base. Crisply crease with bone folder.
.....1 piece 2" x 2 3/4", for large oval punch for the accent on the body
.....1 piece 4 1/4" x 2 3/4" which will be torn from left upper corner down to right lower corner to create the snowdrifts.

Punch out all your designs and make 2 of the Sizzlits Swirls Scribbles.
Make your card base using the 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of White Card Stock. Score at 4 1/4" and fold using the bone folder.

Glue the Large Oval (Whisper White) to the 1 3/4" Circle in Creamy Caramel using SNAIL Adhesive.

Using SNAIL Adhesive, glue the antlers to the back of the head. They will resemble hair when attached.

Next using SNAIL adhesive attach the Small Oval in Chocolate Chip to the Wide Oval in Creamy Caramel.

With a small amount of SNAIL Adhesive attach nose, let part of it be off the head. No adhesive on the part that is not on the head.

Draw in teeth and accent on the nose using the Uni-ball Signo Gel Pen.

This is the Curly Label Punch and will be used for the song book.

Fold over in half and crease using the bone folder.

Using Paper Snips, but a V shape in the to and then from the middle side points down to the bottom center point.

The two Word Window pieces in Creamy Caramel will be used for the legs.

I took an set them on the book, then folded over and cut off the excess on the back. Then put SNAIL adhesive on them and attached to the book.

Here's how they look once attached.
If you would like the dark brown hooves, cut the ends off the chocolate chip word window piece and attach to the legs.
Set aside, you will use the book in a minute.

Take the torn pieces that will be the snow drifts and use them as a visual as you decide where to put the body of the reindeer on the card base.

This is the back side of the song book. A dimensional is in the center and you will use SNAIL to attach to the card.

This is the order you will want to put these assembled pieces on your card base:
1. Body (lay the snowdrifts over the area without gluing to see the exact position you want the reindeer)
2. Head with antler - I used 2 Way Glue Pen on the antlers and SNAIL adhesive on the rest.
3. Song Book - Dimensional in the center and SNAIL on the side. It will upraise the book.

Using SNAIL adhesive, attach the snow drifts. They will overlap and also cover part of the body.

Stamp your greeting on the card with Real Red Classic Ink. I used Season's Greeting from the Snow Swirled stamp set.

If you would like a bit of sparkle, add glitter glue to the snow drifts along the torn edges. This card is guaranteed to make you smile and is easy to do even tho there are many steps.

Stampin' Up! has the best quality paper punches I have found. They are easy to punch with and come in so many shapes and sizes.

Singing Reindeer - Christmas Card

Isn't this the cutest reindeer ever !!! He absolutely LOVES singing Christmas Carols while walking thru the snow. The original one I saw was created by Amy Celona.

It is a very paper punch intensive character as it uses the following punches:
1 3/4" jumbo circle punch
1/2" circle punch
Wide Oval punch
Large Oval punch
Small Oval punch
Word Window punch
Curly Label punch.

The antlers are made using the Big Shot Sizzlet die called "Swirls Scribbles.

Highlighted with White Gel Pen (nose and mouth). Used glitter glue to highlight the torn Whisper White card stock that formed the snowy hills.

Card stock colors:
Whisper White
Creamy Caramel
Chocolate Chip
Real Red

Patterned Pines Christmas Card - Tutorial Mini

Is it possible that Christmas really is only about 2 1/2 months away!!! I'm starting to think about my holiday cards, how about you? Stampin' Up! gives us so many wonderful stamp sets for the holidays, it is truly hard to chose which one(s) to use. Between now and New Years, I thought it would be fun to post some ideas to help you with your holiday card making.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Patterned Pines Stamp Set Level 1 Hostess (item #116525 in the Holiday Mini Catalog)
Snow Swirled Stamp Set (item #111690)
Scallop Oval Paper Punch (item #114889)
Photo Corners Paper Punch (item #109042)
Garden Green Card Stock (item #102584)
Whisper White Card Stock (item #100730)
Brushed Silver Card Stock (item #102935) --- see page 159 of main catalog
Glorious Green Stampin' Write Marker (item #100047)
Real Red Stampin' Write Marker (item #100052)
Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker (item #100079)
SNAIL Adhesive (item #104332)
Bone Folder (item #102300)

Directions:
1. Garden Green Card Stock (8 1/2" x 5 1/2") ... score at 4 1/4", then crease crisply with the bone folder. Set aside. This is your card base.

2. Whisper White Card Stock (4 1/4" x 2 3/4").
.....Using your Stampin' Write Markers in Glorious Green, Real Red, and Old Olive; color the trees on the Patterned Pines stamp. Then stamp on the Whisper White card stock, pressing firmly.
.....Center and attach the Whisper White piece to your card base using snail adhesive.

3. Photo Corners Paper Punch.
.....Punch out 4 sets in the Brushed Silver Card Stock. You will now have 4 large and 4 small corners in silver. Using SNAIL adhesive, attach the larger ones to the four corners of the white and the smaller ones to the corners of the card base.

4. Ink Season's Greetings from the Snow Swirled Stamp Set using your Real Red Stampin' Write Marker, then stamp on the Brushed Silver Card Stock. Punch out stamped image using the Scallop Oval Paper Punch. Attach to base of card (part on the Whisper White, part on the Garden Green Card Stock) using SNAIL Adhesive or Dimensionals.

The Brushed Silver Card Stock has a shimmery effect to it. I really feel it dresses up the card and is a great accent paper.
