Birthday Card For a Friend

I was going thru some of my retired items the other day and came across this window sheet overlay (we no longer sell them).  When I found it I knew it would be perfect for a birthday card I needed.  I like the bright colors in the card.

If you would like to know how to make this flower, I have a step by step tutorial HERE.

You may order from my Stampin' Up! website 24/7 by CLICKING HERE, then click on Shop Now or by contacting me directly. My e-mail link is at the top of the screen.

My Digital Studio 2

I just downloaded the new My Digital Studio 2+ last night to my computer.   Here's my first try with using the new feature that allows you to do multi-colors on any digital stamp brush set in our program.   Isn't this amazing?   Oh my gosh, the old way each item would be one solid color.   This way the fire is two colors, the chair is three, and the tent is four.   It was so easy to do.  The program recognizes the line, so if you put the brush in a white area it will not color it in.   I am so impressed, and can't wait to try more of these.

Stamps - Digital Brush Sets
The Great Outdoors\The Great Outdoors - fire
The Great Outdoors\The Great Outdoors - tent
The Great Outdoors\The Great Outdoors - chair

(note:  The Great Outdoors was a separate purchase from MDS2+)
THE GREAT OUTDOORS STAMP BRUSH SET, item #130857

I think this would make a great card for anyone who loves the great outdoors and camping.

Happy Birthday America - Happy 4th of July

Red, White, and Blue combination.

I've always loved the colors red, white, and blue together.   So when I was thinking 4th of July and what to do, I knew I had to make a card with these colors and some stars.   I have 3 cards this week that will use this color combination.

Any time you have a darker color card base, be sure to insert some white card stock inside with adhesive so that a note can be easily written and read.

Birthday Celebration

Last week I celebrated my 60th birthday!!!  Not sure how I got to be this old, because I certainly don't feel it.   We had a few friends over on Saturday night to help me celebrate.  We had such a good time.   The cake is from Saturday.   It was so delicious.  I love the rainbow on it.   I think we all need LOTS of rainbows in our lives.

I received many birthday cards too.   A few were handmade.

This photo is of the handmade ones I received.  If you look closely you will see quite a bit of Stampin' Up! products that were used.

Cake & ice cream over, time for a group photo.

My wonderful husband (Hal) and me.

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes via phone, e-mail and in person.  It was a great birthday, and I know it will be a great year too.

Flip Flop Card Using Framelits - Sneak Peek Summer Smooches

Card Closed  - Outside

Card Open - Inside

 Card Open and Standing

I had never seen directions for a Flip Flop Card before.  I want to thank Cristy Butzen for her directions and inspiration.  The design of this card was my own idea, but the scoring and use of the framelit for the Flip Flop came from her directions.

Blossom Paper Punch Flower Card #2 - Butterflies All Around

This card just makes me smile.  I'm sure it is because of the butterflies and the assorted colors. I used scraps of card stock and designer series paper to create the butterflies.  The butterflies were attached to the card using mini glue dots so that the wings should be up off of the card to give a 3D effect.

A close-up of the butterflies.  Notice all the texture on them (I used Embosslits from Stampin' Up! which cut and emboss at the same time).

This is a sample of a "negative" image.   When I used the framelits for the Big Shot, it leave a negative image behind on the card stock.   For my card on Tuesday, I used the cut out image and today I used the negative image by trimming the card stock to fit my card base.   A great way to recycle rather than just toss.

Quick and Easy Cards Using Designer Stickers - Sweet Shop

The following 13 cards were made using only Whisper White card stock for the bases, stickers from the Designer Sticker - Sweet Shop pack (item #125584) and a Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Elementary Elegance Stamp Set (item #125120 - Wood or item #125122 - Clear Mount).

Sweet Shop Designer Stickers comes with 4 sheets of clear stickers; 2 sheets ea. of 2 designs.  6"x6".

I challenged myself to see how many cards I could create using just those items.   So often we each need a quick and easy card for a birthday, or you want a simple way for a child to make a card to give for a birthday.  Whatever the reason, these cards work well and were easy to make.   You could use any color card base, but I choose Whisper White as it is a color most stampers have on hand.   The stickers have adhesive on the back so will stick immediately to your card base or envelope.

These would make a great gift item too for anyone who likes to use stickers.

Just a reminder that if you click on the photos below you will be able to see an enlarged version of each of them.

SNEAK PEEK - Blossom Paper Punch AND Mixed Bunch Stamp Set + Two New Ribbons

Did you notice the flower and the butterfly are the exact same pattern?   I stamped and punched out two of the same pattern, then using paper snips cut out the section on the top and bottom area to create a butterfly.   The stamp set is called Mixed Bunch and I used the Blossom Paper Punch to punch the design out. These are from the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  The fine ribbon is from the Sale-a-bration catalog that will premiere on January 24th.   It is 1/8" Organdy Ribbon in Lucky Limeade.

Using the same stamp set (Mixed Bunch) I stamped a smaller design on the accent pattern and then added in the wonderful new Blushing Bride 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon.

Here's a close-up of the card.   I accented the flower and butterfly with Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

Stampin' Up! Products available as of January 4th, 2012.
