Workshop Today

Hi Everyone,

Had a wonderful time at our workshop today. Wish all of you could of been here too to join in the fun. We made post it note covers, designer pens, and bookmarks that all matched using Designer Series Paper (remember the DSP is on sale this month --- buy 3 packages, get 1 free). Then as an added surprise we created photo albums with the design on the front done with watercolor crayon technique.

It's almost midnight now, so I will post photos and directions tomorrow. So be sure to come back and check the blog.

Easy to Make Card - Samples

Today I wanted to show you some samples of cards that you can make using leftover materials. I had quite a bit of extra paper so decided to be creative. The pieces had images already punch out of them using scallops, the paper cutter, and other paper punches. I like the effect it gives to the cards. Then I took rubber stamps and filled in the white spaces.

Paper punches are great too for easy cards. The star images above were done using 2 different size star paper punches. The scallop flowers were created using the scallop circle punch and a circle punch.

Also often a simple card can have the same type of impact that a fancy card can have. So I've provided two very simple cards -- using only stamps. I love the large butterfly and the floral stamps. The floral stamps I did use watercolor crayons to enhance the stamped image.

I just recently started using the watercolor crayons from Stampin' Up! and I must say I really like using them.

You can make all kinds of creative cards using scrap materials that you have on hand along with just a few rubber stamps. Let your imagination go wild and see what you can create. I think you will be amazed at what you can create.

Have a great day!

Hal and I just returned from a cruise on Sunday. Had a fabulous time. I currently have laryngitis, so if you call don't be surprised if my voice sounds funny. We were on the Mariner of the Seas. What an amazing ship. There was an ice rink (and production shows), mini golf course, basketball court, rock climbing wall, golf simulator, jogging track, full gym with the latest equipment, Royal Promenade full of shops, photo opportunities galore (we took 1300 photos) and so much more. We booked this cruise over 18 months ago and traveled with a number of our cruise buddies and 2 dear friends.

I just signed up to participate in anther Cards for Soldiers challenge. Here's the link, if anyone would like to join in:

We met the Nelson Brothers

While we were on the cruise, Matthew and Gunnar Nelson performed a tribute to their dad (Ricky Nelson). The show was amazing and I'm still in shock at how much they sound like Ricky. After the show, they invited the audience to come and meet them and have photos taken.
