Happy Birthday Card - Tutorial Mini

I've added in a new segment to my blog "Tutorial - Mini". It will be used when I don't have step-by-step photos but want to give you an overview of the products used and what I did to create the item being showcased.

This is a birthday card for a friend whose favorite color is red. I had wanted to use the single stamp set that is on Pg 208 of the Stampin' Up! main catalog. It is called Sweet Birthday and is a birthday cake with lit candle.

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used in this project:
Sweet Birthday Stamp Set (single stamp set ... item #115564) -- cake with candle
Eastern Blooms Stamp set (item #111626) -- flower on the envelope
On Your Birthday Stamp Set (item 111664) --- used on the inside of the card
Real Red Card Stock (item #102482)
Real Red Stampin' Marker (item #100052)
Real Red Classic Stamp Pad (item #103133)
Summer Sun Stampin' Marker (item #100077)
Chocolate Chip Stampin' Marker (item #100071)
Chocolate Chip Classic Ink (item #100908)
Brushed Silver Card Stock (item #100712)
Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper (item #113976)
Whisper White Card Stock (item #100730)
1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon Real Red (item #109034)
SNAIL Adhesive (item #104332) OR Sticky Strip (item # 104294)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Mini Glue Dots (item #103683)
Stamping Sponges (item #101610)
Bone Folder (item #102300)

Directions:
1. Real Red Card Stock .... 8 1/2 x 5 1/2"
.....Score at 4 1/4" and crisply crease using the bone folder. This is your card base.

2. Brushed Silver Card Stock ... 5" x 3 3/4"
.....Attach to front of card base using SNAIL adhesive or Sticky Strip.

3. Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper ... 4 1/2" x 3 1/4"
.....Attach your 1/4" Grosgrain Real Red Ribbon (approximately 5 1/4" long) towards the bottom of the Pink Flamingo paper using 2 mini glue dots towards the side. Excess ribbon is folded behind the Pink Flamingo Paper and attached with Scotch Tape.
.....Then take approximately 5" of the 1/4" Grosgrain Real Red Ribbon and tie a knot in the center, then trim. I then put a mini glue dot under the knot to secure to the Pink Flamingo Paper.
.....Using either SNAIL Adhesive or Sticky Strip, attach the Pink Flamingo paper to the Brushed Silver Card Stock.
.....Ink the Sweet Birthday stamp using your Stampin' Markers then stamp on the Whisper White card stock then cut or punch around the stamp. I then took a Stamping Sponge and rubbed it across the Real Red Classic ink pad and then highlight the whisper white paper. Attach to Pink Flamingo paper using Dimensionals.

Added touches:
I used a Corner Rounder on all the corners. This is not necessary, I just wanted a different look to this card.

I stamped the left lower corner of my envelope using one of the flowers in Eastern Blooms Stamp Set. I thought it was a perfect match for the Pink Flamingo DSP on the card.

The inside sentiment was done using the On Your Birthday Stamp Set. It says "Live, Laugh & Love Happy Birthday".

I'm going to make one of the corner bookmarks (see tutorial HERE) to go inside the card.
