Stampin' Sound Cards - Product Review

2nd blog post today ... be sure to scroll down to read the other one too.

Have you notice on Pg 15 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog that we now have a new product called Stampin' Sound Cards. It comes in two versions: (white refers to the color of the card)

#121009 Recordable (White) ..... $5.95
#121007 We Wish You A Merry Christmas (White) ... $5.95

Here's what Stampin' Up! has to say about them: "Add a new dimension to your card making -- sound ! Choose from prerecorded and recordable options. Prerecorded card plays instrumental "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and let you play the song whenever you like. Recordable cards lets you record a message up to 10 seconds and includes play, record, and lock features to ensure message is set. Cover with card stock or Designer Series paper and embellish for a personal flair! Cards measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and fit in our padded envelopes (IB&C 170)."

#116911 Sweet Treat Padded Envelopes (pack of 3) $2.95

Photos below are of the Recordable Card only. I was very impressed with the packaging of this card. It is very well wrapped and well protected for shipping, mailing.

This is the box the card arrives in. It was sealed with clear plastic. The directions are loose in between the clear plastic and the box.

A profile photo of the box depth. Plastic wrap is off and directions just set on top.

I removed the card from the box and was surprised to see it was bubble wrapped also.

Photo of the card out of the bubble wrap. It is a white card. Nice feel to the card stock, will be easy to decorate with card stock and embellish.

Here's the inside of the card. I'm not sure I would "stamp" on this part of the card as the mechanisms are beneath. Also when you decorate do not cover the speaker towards the top or the buttons on the bottom. You hold in the buttons to record and hold in to play. When you release the button the function stops. The microphone is the tiny button on the bottom right. There is a switch on the right side to "lock" your message so it wont' be erased accidentally.

This is the side profile of the card. The button you are looking at is to lock in your recording.

Review: Very pleased to see how well it is packaged. Very fun to be able to record a special message. I think it will be easy to decorate. Just received mine, so haven't decided what to create for it. It truly needs a padded envelope if you are mailing it. Whether mailing or hand delivering to the person, my recommendation is to leave it in the bubble wrap and the box. Decorate the outer box, will make it more gift like. As I stated earlier, personally I would not stamp on the inside part of the card with the mechanism. Altho I couldn't find anything that stated we couldn't do that. It was very easy to record and to change the message.

You can now order both of these cards on-line by clicking here, then clicking on shop now. Wouldn't it be a perfect gift for the holiday to surprise someone with a very personal recorded message or to send them a card with Christmas music.

Color Combinations

I'm helping a friend design a card using Stampin' Up! products. A sample we found had Basic Gray Classic Ink on the Bashful Blue Card Stock. Wasn't sure if we would like it, so decided to do some color testing. I cut a 4 1/4" x 5" piece of Bashful Blue card stock and then proceeded to stamp Happy Birthday and then using the matching Stampin' Marker wrote the color of the ink.

Actually felt that all three colors: Pacific Point, Basic Gray, and Cajun Craze look really nice on the Bashful Blue. Do you have a favorite?

It really is fun to see what you color combinations you can come up with.

I've added in clickable images for the Stampin' Up! catalogs. They are on the right hand side of the blog. Want to make it as easy as possible for you to have access to them. You may order on-line 24/7 just by visiting my Stampin' Up! Website by clicking here, then click on shop now.

You receive that discount when you are a Demonstrator and the opportunity to earn that as a minimum commission (based on sales) when selling to others. Drop me a note (e-mail link at top of screen) to find out more. I'm always looking for creative people to join my team whether as someone who just wants the discount for themself or someone who wants to make it a business. Look forward to hearing from you. Rhinestone Butterflies

Today was filled with phone calls, friends, and Stampin' Up! projects. I had a few cards to make, so decided to use Concord Crush, Poppy Parade and Whisper White. You may know by now that I absolutely LOVE purple and the new Concord Crush In Color is gorgeous. When it is matched up with Poppy Parade, you have a sure winner on your hands. Stampin' Up! has so many great colors to choose from.

I have posted 3 photos of the cards I made tonight. I used the same Stampin' Up! products to create these cards, so will show the cards first then list the products afterwards.

I accented each butterfly with our new Jewel Rhinestones (self-adhesive). The photos don't do them justice as they really sparkle when the light hits them. I highly recommend putting in an extra piece of card stock over these types of embellishments if you plan to mail them. "IF" the embellishment is truly thick or bulky (like a button or bow), the should be put in a padded envelope before mailing.
