Stampin' Sound Cards - Product Review

2nd blog post today ... be sure to scroll down to read the other one too.

Have you notice on Pg 15 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog that we now have a new product called Stampin' Sound Cards. It comes in two versions: (white refers to the color of the card)

#121009 Recordable (White) ..... $5.95
#121007 We Wish You A Merry Christmas (White) ... $5.95

Here's what Stampin' Up! has to say about them: "Add a new dimension to your card making -- sound ! Choose from prerecorded and recordable options. Prerecorded card plays instrumental "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and let you play the song whenever you like. Recordable cards lets you record a message up to 10 seconds and includes play, record, and lock features to ensure message is set. Cover with card stock or Designer Series paper and embellish for a personal flair! Cards measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and fit in our padded envelopes (IB&C 170)."

#116911 Sweet Treat Padded Envelopes (pack of 3) $2.95

Photos below are of the Recordable Card only. I was very impressed with the packaging of this card. It is very well wrapped and well protected for shipping, mailing.

This is the box the card arrives in. It was sealed with clear plastic. The directions are loose in between the clear plastic and the box.

A profile photo of the box depth. Plastic wrap is off and directions just set on top.

I removed the card from the box and was surprised to see it was bubble wrapped also.

Photo of the card out of the bubble wrap. It is a white card. Nice feel to the card stock, will be easy to decorate with card stock and embellish.

Here's the inside of the card. I'm not sure I would "stamp" on this part of the card as the mechanisms are beneath. Also when you decorate do not cover the speaker towards the top or the buttons on the bottom. You hold in the buttons to record and hold in to play. When you release the button the function stops. The microphone is the tiny button on the bottom right. There is a switch on the right side to "lock" your message so it wont' be erased accidentally.

This is the side profile of the card. The button you are looking at is to lock in your recording.

Review: Very pleased to see how well it is packaged. Very fun to be able to record a special message. I think it will be easy to decorate. Just received mine, so haven't decided what to create for it. It truly needs a padded envelope if you are mailing it. Whether mailing or hand delivering to the person, my recommendation is to leave it in the bubble wrap and the box. Decorate the outer box, will make it more gift like. As I stated earlier, personally I would not stamp on the inside part of the card with the mechanism. Altho I couldn't find anything that stated we couldn't do that. It was very easy to record and to change the message.

You can now order both of these cards on-line by clicking here, then clicking on shop now. Wouldn't it be a perfect gift for the holiday to surprise someone with a very personal recorded message or to send them a card with Christmas music.
