Converting Stampin' Round Wheel into a set of Clear Mount Stamps - Tutorial

Have you ever found the perfect Stampin' Round Wheel but wanted it as a stamp set?   Well, I have a solution for you ... "IF" you are extremely careful, you can actually remove the rubber from the wheel and turn it into a clear mount stamp.   The KEY is "carefully remove" as the rubber can rip.  This technique/change is NOT endorsed by Stampin' Up! or myself.   Since I have been asked numerous time if it can be done, I wanted to show you what I have done with one of my Stampin Round Wheels.   Here's my Step by Step Tutorial of what I did:

 Step 1:   This is the Jumbo Stampin' Round Wheel called "In Stitches".  It is item #121946 and can be found in the Occasions Mini catalog on Pg 34.  It has 6 rows of stitches.

 Step 2:  There is a seam in the rubber.  Gently start lifting , going very slowly.  Open the seam from side to side BEFORE starting to peal it off the wheel. 

 Step 3:   When removed from the wheel it will lay flat.  If there is any pieces of adhesive on the back, I picked it off.

Step 4:   Using Stampin' Up!'s Craft & Rubber Scissors cut designs into rows.   Again going slowly is important so that you do not cut into the designs.   Craft & Rubber Scissors are item #103179 and can be found on Pg 199 of the 2010-1011 Idea Book & Catalog.

Here's the 6 patterns of stitches cut apart.   The rows are approximately 7 inches long.  I used my Craft and Rubber scissors and trimmed them to 5 1/2" so that they would fit nicely on Clear Block I, item #118488.  You do not need to trim them, this choice is up to you.

Step 5:   Using a small flat paint brush and Multipurpose Liquid Glue (item #110755), brush a light coating of the glue over the back of the of the rubber.   Do not spread on thick as it will create too much stickiness.   Allow to dry completely (I left mine overnight).  Now your stamp will be removable.  "IF" you do not allow it to dry completely and attach to a clear mount block, the stamp can adhere itself permanently to the clear block.

 Step 6:   Once completely dry, they fit on Clear Block I.   I inked as I would any of my stamps and stamped my image on Whisper White card stock.

 I laid the rubber stamp across to show that it was wider than my card.   I added borders to the top and bottom of the card.
