Ink Blot Card - Tutorial

This technique is my own creation. I decided to have some fun with my ink refills and see what I could do.

Supplies:
Any color ink refill (3 to 5 colors)
Glossy Paper - Item #102599
Toothpick, make-up spatula, brush, or ??? (whatever you want to pull the color out from the center)

1 piece White Glossy Cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
3 Color Ink Refils
1 Make-up Spatula (plastic)

Put 5 dots of color on the glossy side of the paper.

Using the spatula (toothpick, brush etc) pull the color from the center of the dot.

NOTE: Wipe the spatula (toothpick) in between colors so that the colors don't go into each other UNLESS that is the look you want.

Continue pulling the color out.
I think it looks like flowers or fireworks. You could add in stems, leaves or leave as it. If you want it to look like fireworks, add in some Stickles Glitter Glue. This is should be considered the same as "Wet Paint" so allow it to completely dry before adhering to the front of your card.

Using SNAIL or sticky tape, attach the card front to your card. Stamp a sentiment inside and your card is ready to go.

This technique could also be used to make jelly fish. Make your dot more of an oval and then only pull down on the color. Stamp in some fish and you are ready for the fish/ocean theme card.

UPDATE: Additional photos of 2 new cards with this technique are here:

I did add Stickles (glue glitter) and it definitely looks like Fireworks/Celebration. Will take photos tomorrow and post also.

This is a wonderful technique -- thank you for sharing. I think I'll try it for my clubs with the new In Color re-inkers!
