The inspiration for the Tri-Shutter card came from Robin's Craft Room:
I didn't follow her directions to the letter, but they were a big help in creating my first card. The card above is one of the Tri-Shutter fold cards I made. The 2nd one I made is for the tutorial listed here and completed photos are at the very end. (all products are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated)
Here are my directions for making the card:
Paper:
1 piece 12" x 5 1/2" Almost Amethyst cardstock - Item #107078
1 piece Tea Party DSP 12" x 12" (double sided paper) - Item #113992 cut into the following sizes:
..... 3 pieces cut 3 1/4" x 3 3/4"
..... 2 pieces cut 7/8" x 12"
..... Save the rest of the piece of this DSP (extra) so that you have 4 flowers to hand cut out
1 scrap piece of Almost Amethyst cardstock - Item #107078 to cut out greetings
Misc:
Modern Label Punch - Item #116630 (available July 1st)
Stampin' Dimensionals - Item #104430
SNAIL Adhesive - Item #104332
Stampin' Pad - Perfect Plum Classic Ink - Item #101437
Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set - Item #115370 (available July 1st)
Bone Folder - #102300
Everything all laid out and ready to go. I precut the 4 flowers from the Tea Party "extra". If you do not have this paper, you can embellish the card with silk flowers, stamped images that you cut out etc. So many possibilities.
I use the Scor-Pal for scoring of my cardstock. It is not sold by Stampin' Up! at this time. It will hold up to a 12" x 12" piece of paper.
Score your paper: (12' x 5 1/2" Almost Amethyst)
Score at 2" and 10" BUT ONLY Score down 1 inch from the top & 1 inch up from the bottom.
Score at 4" and 8" score completely from top to bottom.
When I scored the 2" and the 10" marks, I put a post-it note at the one inch marks down as a guide. Made the scoring a great deal easier for me.
DO NOT FOLD.
Remove the paper from the Scor-Pal and using portable cutter NOT a desk top cutter, cut from score at the 2" down to the score at the 10" for both the left and the righ side shown above. The dark lines are the actual cuts I made. It is very important that you do NOT cut from top to bottom as this will cut away parts of the shutters.
DO NOT FOLD
It is much easier to attach the paper borders, panels and flowers before you fold the card.
Setting your paper back to 12" x 5 1/2" (shown above), use SNAIL adhesive to adher the 2 pieces of Tea Party Paper that are 7/8" x 12"
Attach the 3 panels 3 1/4" x 3 3/4" using SNAIL adhesive. I alternated the back and front of the Tea Party DSP.
Attach the cut out flowers now using dimensionals. I put two dimensionals on each flower. One flower on the front and back panel and two flowers on the inside panel.
Now carefully fold the card at all score lines. It is extremely important that you do alternate the folds (see card above).
Fold forward, fold back. Upper and lower border have 4 folds. Center panel area has 2.
An overhead view of the card.
(Note ... add flower embellishments on before folding).
Cut out with the Modern Label punch.
Attach using SNAIL adhesive.
Close-up of the finished front.
Close-up of the card folded. It will fit an A2 envelope.
Another view of the finished card.
Once you understand the folding of the crease lines, I really believe you will love making this card. It is so elegant and truly has that WOW factor.

WOW! Question: Do you mind if I post just the very first pic on a post on my blog & then refer them to you for the tutorial? I just want my readers to get a peek at the card so that they'll want to hop on over.
Thanks!
Gracie
Gracie .. it would be all right to post 1 photo to your blog as long as the KreatesKards watermark stays on the photo AND there is a direct link back to my blog AND a bit of an explanation of where the photo originated. I ask that you do not copy my text/tutorial on your blog. That information is to remain on my blog along with the rest of the photos.
Thank you so much for the instructions for this card. I made one this morning and it is presentable on the first try. I usually have a mistake and have to learn on the first one. your directions were perfect. Thanks again
